Sun Protection

A retractable awning can be opened and closed using pulleys, similar to a sliding roof that you can open as desired. This means you can easily decide how much sun you want at any given moment. The pulleys and all mounting materials are included with the retractable awning. Our retractable awnings offer good protection against the sun's UV radiation and also create a cozy atmosphere in your garden or on your terrace.

Tips for installing your retractable awnings

< 200 cm wide: TWO steel cables

Tip: subtract 10cm from the width where the fabric will be placed. This makes the fabric 10cm narrower, leaving 5cm of free space on each side of the fabric. For the length of the fabric, maintain the exact length measurement.

Light or dark?

It is a given that a light color reflects more rays than a dark color. However, heat rejection mainly depends on the amount of radiation/heat absorbed by the fabric and passing through it (transmission). With a dark color, the absorption value is much higher, meaning the transmission value (radiation/heat through the fabric) is lower than with a light fabric. A light fabric has a high reflection value, but a low absorption value, causing radiation/heat to pass through the fabric at a higher rate. This explains the higher shade factor percentages for darker colors.
