Why a triangular shade sail?

During the summer, temperatures can soar. A little extra shelter in the garden is then not a luxury. With a triangular shade sail, you can easily create more shade.

The great thing about a triangular shade sail is that you can hang it in many different ways. You only need to attach it at three points. This makes the sail ideal for hanging in a corner, for example, or diagonally from the house or patio cover. This provides protection from the sun and gives your garden or terrace a playful look.

Equilateral or non-equilateral?

You already read above that you can choose between an equilateral or non-equilateral shade sail. The difference between the two is simple. With an equilateral shade sail, the measurements of all sides are equal (for example, 5 x 5 x 5 meters). With a non-equilateral shade sail, the measurements of the sides are not equal (for example, 3.5 x 4.0 x 4.5 meters).

Triangular shade sail 90 degrees

A 90-degree triangular shade sail is measured from triangle to triangle. Because curves need to be applied, the assumption might be that this is not a 90-degree angle.

Finally, you also have the choice between different materials for shade sails: waterproof or water-permeable.

Waterproof or water-permeable?

A waterproof triangular shade sail not only protects your patio from UV radiation but also from rain. The advantage of this is that your garden furniture always stays dry. So you don't have to constantly bring them inside when it rains.

A water-permeable triangular shade sail is woven slightly more loosely than a waterproof sail. This allows the sail to let in a little more light and wind. This keeps your patio nice and airy in the summer.

How big are the curves in a triangular sun shade?

A shade sail can be made in any desired size. Shade sails that are attached at three or four corners always have curves. Please note that the specified size will not be fully covered. The curve is approximately 5 to 6% per side. The specified dimensions always refer to the measurement from eyelet to eyelet. The fabric size is therefore always smaller after deducting the percentage of the curves. For dimensions narrower than 2 meters, you should question whether the shade sail will retain its function.

Attaching a triangular shade sail

An important reason why people choose a triangular shade sail is that it is easy to attach. In addition, you are flexible in how you attach the sail. This can be done in many different ways: in a corner, to the patio cover, or diagonally.
